Young
drivers were most often involved in a
rear-end collision or a broadside.
Head-on collisions were the leading cause
of young driver fatal crashes. In fact,
26% of young driver fatal crashes were
head-on compared to 11% of all fatal
crashes. Head-on collisions for
young drivers were 45 times more likely
to result in a fatal crash than other
collisions. Single vehicle rollovers for
this group were 6 times more likely to
result in at least one fatality than
other collisions.
