  • 343 highway fatalities, a 13% increase from 1993
  • 28,075 persons injured, a 9% increase from 1993
  • 59,272 traffic accidents reported, a 6.4% increase from 1993
  • Utah population increased by 2.7% in 1994
  • 9% of all vehicles involved in Utah crashes were driven by a person with an out-of-state driver's license
  • 24.5% of all accidents involved only one vehicle
  • For every 82 persons injured, one person was killed
  • 74% of all accidents occurred between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., while 54% of fatal accidents occurred during this time period
  • Sunday was the lowest accident day, with 8% of all accidents
  • 38% of all crash victims were between the ages of 16 and 25
  • 40% of all vehicles in crashes were driven by 16 to 25 year olds
